Journal of Technology in Aerospace Engineering

Peer Review Process

The journal Technology in Aerospace Engineering follows a double-blind peer-review process for evaluating articles. In this process, both authors and reviewers are unaware of each other's identities to ensure the quality and impartiality of the article evaluation. The process involves several stages, which are outlined below:

1. Submission of the Article

Authors submit their article through the journal's system. At this stage, the article information, including the title (in both Persian and English), abstract, keywords, and the authors' details, is entered into the system, and the relevant files are uploaded. Additionally, authors are required to submit conflict-of-interest and authenticity forms for the article.

2. Initial Review by the Editor

After submission, the editor reviews the article from various aspects:

  • Relevance to the Scope and Objectives of the Journal: If the article does not align with the journal’s thematic areas, it will be rejected.
  • Adherence to Journal Format and Structure: If the article does not follow the journal's formatting and structural guidelines, it will be returned to the author for revision.

If the article passes this stage successfully, it will be sent to the next stage.

3. Plagiarism Checking

In this stage, the article is checked for similarity and adherence to publication ethics:

  • Articles are checked using the Hamanandjo software.
  • Important Note: If the similarity index of the article exceeds 10% based on national and international standards, the article will be rejected, and the author will not be allowed to resubmit it.

4. Referral to Technical Editor

After the article passes the previous stages, it is sent to the technical editor for an initial technical and scientific evaluation, and appropriate reviewers are selected for the article.

5. Selection and Appointment of Specialized Reviewers

The technical editor selects at least three specialized reviewers in the article's subject area. The article, without the authors' names, is then sent to the reviewers for evaluation to begin.

6. Peer-Review Process and Initial Decision

Reviewers evaluate the article and send their comments along with the review form to the journal. Based on the review results, the article will have one of the following outcomes:

Accepted without Revisions: The article is directly sent to the preparation stage for publication.

🔄 Requires Revisions (Minor or Major): The article is returned to the authors for revisions.

Rejected: If at least two reviewers reject the article, it will be removed from the review process, and the authors will be informed of the decision.

7. Revisions by Authors and Submission of Revised Version

If the article requires revisions:

  • The reviewers' and technical editor's comments are sent to the authors.
  • Authors have up to two weeks to make the revisions and submit the revised version of the article along with explanations for the changes.

If the revised version is approved by the editor, the article moves to the next stage.

8. Final Review by the Editor and Acceptance of the Article

In this stage, the editor and technical editor review the revised article and make the final decision:

  • If the article still requires further revisions, it is sent back to the authors for additional revisions.
  • If the reviewers request further review of the revised version, the article is sent for a second round of peer-review.

Ultimately, if the editor approves, the article is accepted, and the author receives an acceptance certificate.

9. Editing, Layout, and Preparation of the Article for Publication

After the article is accepted:

  • The editing and layout process begins.
  • The final version of the article is sent to the authors for final approval to check details such as authors’ names, figures, and tables.
  • After the author's approval, the article is listed as ready for publication.

10. Publication of the Article

The article is published in one of the journal’s upcoming issues.

All published articles are made available to readers for free in PDF and XML formats on the journal's website.
